POLYNUCLEOTIDES

What are Polynucleotides?

AKA 'The Sperm Treatment'

Polynucleotides are the latest revolutionary product in regenerative medicine that work on a cellular level to repair tissue and boost skin quality. Polynucleotides are natural, highly-purified DNA molecules usually extracted from the gonads of fish.

In the form of polymerised polynucleotide-based injectable gels, polynucleotides work by stimulating fibroblasts. When fibroblasts are stimulated this encourages cell turnover, improves elasticity, boosts collagen production and hydrates skin to create an even and refreshed skin tone.

Polynucleotides can be used to improve;

  • Fine lines

  • Acne scarring

  • Dark under-eye circles

  • Skin laxity

  • Poor tone and texture

  • Inflammation

  • Pigmentation

FAQs

How long will it last?
How long does the treatment take?
Are there any side effects?

You can expect to see initial results after 3 weeks, with optimal results at 12 weeks, lasting 6 to 12 months.

This depends on what area you are having treated. Usually around 30-60 minutes.

Side effects are minimal, depending on the injection technique used. As with any injection, patients can expect some slight redness and swelling following treatment. No serious adverse events have been reported.

Is there any downtime?
Is it painful?
Can I have treatment on the same day?

Polynucloetides can cause tenderness, swelling (in the form of small blebs) and bruising after treatment. The 'blebs' usually settle in 24-48 hours but can be present for up to 2 weeks. Bruising can be present for 1-2 weeks post treatment, however with the use of arnica cream they will hopefully subside a little sooner for you.

We use topical numbing cream prior to the treatment as it can be uncomfortable in certain areas. Our aim is to keep you as comfortable as possible during your treatment.

It is always recommended to have a consultation first and then a “contemplation period” where you can make an informed decision. However, it is possible to discuss and treat on the same day if preferred.
